This handsome male is aptly named for the Kiowa Chief Satanta. His name, meaning white bear, fits our boy to a 'T' who is densely covered with a blazing white fleece. Phenotypically, Satanta is a real looker. But he really does have the goods. A full Peruvian and 1/4 Accoyo, He's the product of elite progeny-tested Studmaster genetics from both sides of his pedigree. His dam is out of Studmaster Accoyo Pachacuti, whose cria are uniformly outstanding and some of the best examples of the Accoyo line. And Satanta's sire is Studmaster K-2, whose fleece nears the ideal, displaying amazing brightness and a tight staple structure that exhibits bundling. His ratio of secondary to primary fibers (14:1) is the best ratio on record in the U.S. He's known for producing cria that possess his same traits and have fleeces ranking them among the top U.S. alpacas. Satanta is a great blending of these dynamite genes. He's superbly dense, exceptionally bright and displays beautiful bold deep crimp. His frame is squared and balanced, of solid bone and covered from head to toe. At the '05 Ohio AlpacaFest, Judge Ruth Elvested, well-known fleece expert, remarked that he had a gorgeous fleece -- fine, uniformly crimped and very dense. It is interesting to note that there were over 60 males in the yearling age group. Standing in that championship class was a proud moment for Satanta!
