Katahdin, named for Maine's highest peak, is aptly named with his large but perfect frame. However, in contrast to this granite mountain, Katahdin himself, gleams as if made of light. His luster is simply incandescent and quite in character for the genetics he carries. Both his great grandsires, Accoyo Torbio and Accoyo Caezar, have built world-famous reputations on the luster of their progeny. And Katahdin's sire, High Octane by Torbio, and dam, Celine Celebrity, are superior examples of these 2 male's progeny. High Octane by Torbio, our light brown herdsire, is a 5-time champ and 10-time blue ribbon winner. And Katahdin's dam, Celine Celebrity, although never shown by her previous owner, would have certainly done well with her solid frame, twisted locks and unstoppable luster. At 6 years old she still glisten as if wet and carries a dense fleece that continues to relock after shearing. Katahdin has what it takes to make his ancestors proud in his upcoming show and breeding careers. At his 1st show, 2008 NAAS, he won Reserve Color Champ (against our own HaSu Hiamovi who won Champ). He followed this up with a 1st place at the 2008 MAPACA Jubilee, the world's largest alpaca show ever to be held.
