Kanawha is a powerhouse of elite color genetics. On her maternal side she has her dam, Kiva, a gorgeous solid rose grey who when shorn has a glistening lavendar appearance, grand dam Clarice, a statuesque shiny true black, and grand sire, Accoyo Bruxo, known to produce cria of color with super greasy lustrous fleeces. On her paternal side she has sire, Commander in Chief, the ultimate in black sires, grand dam Panams Fames Heartbeat, a multiple award winning true black, and grand sire, the striking silver grey El Nino, considered one of the best grey sires in North America. This palette of rich color genetics comes together in the form of this lovely bay black, super shiny, perfectly conformed girl. Kanawha is named for the great Kanawha river as her glassy luster reminds us of the play of light on the rivers surface. She may be a little bit of a thing now, but we fully expect her to grow to enbody all the lovely images her name conveys.
